Lightning Capacitor

The lightning capacitor is a special gnome invention that was originally used to make drying clothes easier and faster... except it ended up frying the clothes, the drying line and the gnome hanging the clothes out up. But the gnomes saw it as a special invention that, when charged properly, could make your hair stand on end!

After making a lightning capacitor, it needs to be charged. There are two ways to charge it. First, you must find one of the two electrical stations. Stand close to the generator and use the capacitor and it will start charging. Be careful when charging for if you overcharge it, it can explode! Once it has fully charged (or as much as you think it can handle), you can put it away for later use. Second, you can obtain an essence of electricity potion made by an alchemist. Each bottle will put five charges into the capacitor. Also be careful with this method as you can overfill it and it will explode. In addition, certain races have a natural feel for elemental forces and are able to charge the capacitor higher.

To use, simply throw it at the ground and a lightning storm will erupt from the capacitor, hitting everything, including yourself, in vicinity. The lightning is extremely strong at the beginning of the cycle. As the lightning escapes, the capacitor becomes weaker and eventually collapses, destroying itself. The closer to the center of the storm, the stronger the blast of lightning will be. Those hit at the outer edge of the range will not be as strong as those hit near the center.

• Be careful throwing two in one location - the resulting storm can interfere with the capacitor's ability to diffuse it's lightning at a regular pace.

• Hint: one of the electrical stations is in the mad scientist's house while the other is located with the gnomes.
