Your ability to find someone is a comparison of your detect hidden skill and their hiding skill.<br /> <br /> When finding a locked chest, you will automatically use detect hidden to search for traps once you start trying to pick it. There are three possible results: you find a trap, you don't find a trap or you don't know. A higher detect hidden will have a higher chance of disarming the trap if there is open then safely opening the chest.</div>
