Virtue points take the place of fame and karma - they are currently the only thing that determines your title. Virtue is gained by either: killing certain monsters (as a general rule, red monsters tend to give virtue but others can give virtue as well) and doing certain quests and eventsKilling high-level bosses and events tend to give the most virtue.  You can lose virtue by killing innocent townspeople. The following chart shows the different gain messages and how many virtue points each message translates to:

The following is a list of titles that you can earn as your virtue points increase (or decrease).  Note that if you are role playing an evil character, you can now change your alignment so that you lose virtue points as you kill monsters instead of gaining them (by using the command: .alignment).  This will help you achieve the evil titles.

* On other shards, using poison would decrease virtue after every use. Poison here is regarded as natural and will not decrease your virtue when using it.
