Totems are magically-crafted items that use hardened porcelain (to make a white totem) or obsidian (to make a black totem). When used, their magical clockworks begin to unfold and opens up to a life-sized object of the totem. When a totem has reached 0 health, they will break although sometimes, if the damage is too great, the totem will just shatter and will be lost. Their clockworks will shatter and they will shrink back down to their small size. You will require a tinker or a special porcelain/obsidian repair kit to fix it. Due to the clockworks wearing down, totems can only be used up to 10 times and after this, they will fall apart. The only exception to this are ridable totems. There is no limit to the amount you can use them.

Totems do not regenerate health over time if left alone; however, you can heal a totem through magical means or by lighting a campfire near them to harden their surface again.

Each totem has different strengths and weaknesses and can make excellent hunting partners depending on the situation needed.

When you use a gem-color glaze on a totem, they gain special attributes from the glazing process.
