Overview

The Exodus Dungeon is located in the southwest corner of the Central Ilshenar valley. It was once home to the evil clockwork entity known as Lord Exodus. It is rumored that if you collect all the keys found in the dungeon, you are able to resurrect him as he is part machine and the summoning ritual will bring back his spirit into the machine body.

To find the dungeon, you must enter Central Ilshenar. The only way in is to find Ivanhoe the Mountain Climber at the West Gypsy Caravan and use his equipment. If you are on the Unforgiven Quest, you will not be able to use the equipment until you have reached that part of the quest. Once you are in the valley, you may mark a rune to return to it at any time. The dungeon is located on the south-west of the valley in a large temple surrounded by lava. To enter the dungeon, you can find the entrance in the center of the lowest floor. Simple walk into it and you will be transported to the dungeon.

The dungeon itself is mechanical in nature and very different than other dungeons with flashing lights, numerous switches, energy crackling and machines in every room (these items are non-functioning and only for show). The monsters that dwell inside are also mechanical and may take awhile to kill due to their metal-like exterior and near resistance to magic spells.

Keys

There are four keys needed to start the summoning ritual and there are three different ways to find these keys.

Robe of Rite

Exodus Summoning Rite

Exodus Summoning Altar

Exodus Sacrificial Dagger

Monsters

There is a small chance that the mechanical dwellers within will drop the item.

Box of Mystery

For those with high lockpicking ability, you can find Exodus Mystery Boxes within the dungeon. These boxes typically contain gems but have a small chance at an Exodus Key.

Exodus Machine

The Exodus Machine, found within the dungeon, will craft you the items if you have the correct materials. Using the machine will tell you what materials and skill is needed to craft the item.

The Summoning

Once you have collected all four items, you can now perform the summoning rite. Only one person performs the rite but you can have as many players with you when you perform the rite.

1. Go to any shrine on Ilshenar.

2. Use the Exodus Summoning Altar near a shrine to reveal the Exodus Summoning Tome situated on top of the altar. The tome will only exist for 15 minutes and will count down to when it will expire.

3. Equip the Robe of Rite and the Exodus Sacrificial Dagger.

4. Use the Exodus Summoning Rite.

All party members standing around the altar will be transported to the final battle.

The Encounter

You have summoned the spirit back into Lord Exodus' machine body. But it is vengeance that he seeks as he immediately attacks you. The Clockwork Exodus is very fast which makes him harder to outrun and he has hardened steel plates making your weapons bounce off his exoskeleton. Being of a clockwork nature, magical attacks will not do their full damage against him. Every now and then, he will perform one of several special attacks including a special energy surge which drains your mana, blinding everyone with his flash lightning or starting a repair cycle which begins to heal him for large amounts of life regeneration.

If you die, there is a resurrection gate along the western mountainside of the valley.

Once you have defeated him, there is a large gold explosion around him. In additional to the gold, he has a 30% chance to drop one of the following items somewhere on the ground:

Dupre's Sword: A named sword.

Bracers of Alchemical Devastation: A special wrist item that adds +10 alchemy and an intelligence increase.

Hygieia's Amulet: A special necklace that adds +10 alchemy, increases intelligence but decreases strength.

Asclepius: A named wildstaff.
